Aurora tonight
It's a quiet one. NOAA has the Kp peaking at 2.67 in the 7 PM window, then sitting around 2.33 through the night and easing to 2.00 by early Friday morning. Fairbanks sits under the oval, so even a low Kp can put a faint band overhead, but the National Weather Service has tonight mostly cloudy. If you spot a clear patch after dark, it might be worth a quick look out the back door.

The four cheapest prices people have reported so far:

- $4.77 at Fred Meyer, 930 Old Steese Hwy, Fairbanks (Oct 21, 7:51 PM)
- $4.77 at Safeway, 500 Old Steese Hwy, Fairbanks (Oct 20, 12:23 PM)
Both of the lowest two crept up a few cents from yesterday. The tracker didn't have a North Pole report in its lowest prices this morning.

Weather
Fairbanks: Mostly cloudy today with a high near 26°F and almost no wind. Tonight stays mostly cloudy and colder, down around 14°F. Friday turns partly sunny with a high near 27°F.
North Pole: Mostly cloudy with a high near 25°F and calm air. Tonight is mostly cloudy with a low around 13°F.
No new snow in the forecast, so it's a good stretch to catch up on clearing before the colder nights pack it down.
