Aurora tonight
NOAA has the Kp peaking at 3.67 in the 7 PM window, then falling off fast to 2.33 by 10 PM and under 2 by early Thursday morning. That early evening bump would be worth a look from Fairbanks, which sits right under the oval, but the National Weather Service has tonight mostly cloudy. If you see a break in the clouds after dark, step outside early rather than late.

The four cheapest prices people have reported so far:

- $4.77 at Safeway, 500 Old Steese Hwy, Fairbanks (Oct 20, 12:23 PM)
- $4.77 at Safeway, 3627 Airport Way, Fairbanks (Oct 20, 12:22 PM)
Speedway Express on Peger Rd was also at $4.77. The tracker didn't have a recent North Pole report in its lowest prices this morning.

Weather
Fairbanks: A chance of snow before 1 PM, then mostly cloudy with a high near 26°F and a light west wind. Less than half an inch of new snow is possible. Tonight is mostly cloudy with a low around 18°F. Thursday stays mostly cloudy with a high near 26°F.
North Pole: Same story, with a chance of snow before 1 PM, a high near 26°F, and less than half an inch possible. Mostly cloudy tonight with a low around 18°F, and a high near 25°F on Thursday.
Compared with yesterday's heavy snow forecast, today looks a lot quieter. If you got a pile, it is a good day to finish digging out before it settles and packs down.
